Medical Bookkeeper/ Accountant

Fulltime or Parttime Remote/Hybrid Available Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experiencedMedical Bookkeeper/Accountantto manage the financial records and reporting for our healthcare practice. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of accounting principles and healthcare billing systems, and be able to maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and support the financial operations of a medical office or facility. Responsibilities • Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) • Process medical billing and insurance claims, ensuring proper coding and payment • Reconcile bank statements and financial accounts • Maintain general ledger and post journal entries • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports • Manage payroll or coordinate with payroll provider • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and HIPAA • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis • Work closely with practice manager, doctors, and external accountants or auditors • Maintain organized and secure financial records Qualifications: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 2+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience (preferably in a medical or healthcare setting) • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage) • Experience with medical billing software (e.g., Kareo, AdvancedMD, DrChrono) is a strong plus • Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT codes, and insurance claim processes • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills • Knowledge of HIPAA and healthcare compliance Preferred Skills: • Strong Excel and financial reporting skills • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Medical Experience required • Medical Financial is required Salary Range: Market Salary Negotiable Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits: • Work from home Ability to Commute: • San Antonio, TX 78216 (Required) Ability to Relocate: • San Antonio, TX 78216: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
