Medical Telephone Appointment Agent – Full-Time Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) San Antonio, TX (On-Site – Lincoln Center Building, 7800 IH-10 West, Suite 700, San Antonio, TX 78230) Job Type:Full-time Pay:$17.75 per hour + $4.93/hour Health & Welfare Allowance (applied toward benefits up to 40 hrs/week) About the Role Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seekingMedical Telephone Appointment Agentsto support theConsult and Appointment Management Office (CAMO)for theSan Antonio Military Health System (SAMHS)contract. • ️This is NOT a remote opportunity. You will play an important role in supporting the Military Healthcare System by scheduling patient care appointments in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Responsibilities • Schedule medical appointments and determine patient eligibility from phone calls, secure messaging, or other request methods. • Support Primary Care Managers (PCMs) by scheduling primary and specialty care appointments and consult referrals. • Verify beneficiary eligibility and confirm/update patient demographics. • Follow booking protocols and clinic SOPs. • Initiate outbound calls, send mass mailers, and respond to online requests for scheduling, rescheduling, or cancellations. • Direct initial specialty referral consults for clinical review while adhering to clinic capabilities and SOPs. Qualifications • High School Diploma or equivalent. • 6 months – 1 year experience in a medical office or fast-paced call center (appointment scheduling preferred). • Knowledge of medical terminology (40-hour certificate OR 6+ months in a medical environment). • Typing speed of at least 35 WPM. • Strong customer service skills and professionalism. • Experience with automated computer systems. • Ability to obtain aPublic Trust clearance. • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
