Founded in late 2016, Ventrata aims to be the Google of the travel industry — the SaaS solution everyone relies on. We provide technology in all channels with a one-stop-shop ticketing, management and operational solution for attractions, tours and activity suppliers.

Despite the challenging environment, Ventrata continues to grow in double digits. During the global pandemic, many attractions have restructured and upgraded their technology. For Ventrata, this has driven a growth rate of 6x — from $80m in ticket sales in 2019 to more than $900m in 2022.

Ventrata is an enterprise ticketing platform designed for high-volume attraction, tour, and activity operators. Our all-in-one platform powers online, in-person, & third-party sales, and provides robust functionality around resource management, hardware integrations, and 24/7 live support. Ventrata's solutions are trusted by some of the biggest names in the industry: Big Bus Tours, Empire State Building, Sightseeing Pass, Tootbus, Historic Tours of America, Boston Duck Tours, Magnicity, Pilsner Urquell Experience, Fat Tire Tours, Museum of Illusions, multiple Gray Line and City Sightseeing operators, and more.

Ventrata has been profitable since 2018 and holds substantial private backing. There have been two successful rounds of funding prior to coronavirus. No funding has been required to maintain operations through the period. Our team is based in Czechia, UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Croatia, Nigeria and the US.

What do we develop?

Without going too deep regarding the product itself - we are doing checkout application running on 3rd party web-pages. Application is SPA done in Svelte, Typescript, and Vite. We are trying to have a very lean app with a very good QA process. The whole app is covered by a great number of component & E2E tests done in Cypress.

Given we aim for a lean app size, every library needs to be assessed very thoroughly. It means that a lot of the time we develop our components from the bottom up. Abstract thinking, ownership of the problem, and delivery are key parts of the development.

All designs are provided in Figma and you may have a direct influence on the final visual output. Library versions are the latest, so don't worry about obsolete packages :)

What does Medior FE mean to us?

You’ve worked with at least one framework or robust library during your professional career. You know it deeply enough to feel confident in it. This means advanced knowledge of at least one of the big players like Svelte/React/Vue.js/Angular etc. is expected. Typescript knowledge is needed. Every front-end developer has some inclinations. One can be more design (CSS) oriented focusing on the semantics of the web with deep interest. Some can enjoy the internal app architecture and component design. Some unicorns enjoy both :). You should know, what interests you and why. We will talk about it!

Maybe you’ve done some back-end related jobs or contracts. That would be awesome! It is not a requirement for us though. We are currently creating multiple green field projects. It may happen, that you'll participate in more ‘DevOps’ related job. Nothing too deep. Ideally, you should be aware of CI/CD flow and GitHub actions. We also expect general API design knowledge.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Ownership of the delivery - you manage technical processes and communicate problems
• Building reusable components in Svelte and Typescript
• Translating designs and wireframes into high-quality code
• Optimizing SPA for maximum performance and minimum size

• You have advanced knowledge of JavaScript and elaborate coding experience with any of the modern libraries & frameworks (Svelte/ React / Angular / Vue / Ember etc.)
• Experience with a responsive design
• Experience with Backend development is nice to have
• Intermediate English
• You love frontend development :)
