Contract:IRS – MeF Modernization Clearance:Public Trust / MBI Preferred About the Project TheModernized e-File (MeF)platform enables secure electronic filing of tax returns with the IRS. It uses aService-Oriented Architecture (SOA)to process submissions, validate returns, determine disposition, and interface with multiple IRS downstream systems. Originally developed and enhanced by IBM since 2001, MeF is now evolving toward theIRS Future State Architecture—integrating cloud, containerization, and DevSecOps modernization. Position Summary We are seeking an experiencedSecurity Architectto lead the evolution of the MeF security architecture. This role serves as theprimary point-of-contact for all security-related decisions, driving vulnerability remediation, advancing DevSecOps maturity, and guiding portal-level security strategy across multiple MeF applications. Key Responsibilities • Develop and extendMeF security solution architectures (≈ 25%) • Design and recommendsecurity options for containerization and Cloud migration (≈ 25%) • Coordinateremediation of vulnerabilities and respond to customer requests (≈ 15%) • Adviseon Portal security and participate in technical meetings (≈ 15%) • Develop and maintaincontractual deliverables following IRS templates (≈ 10%) • Provide LoE estimatesfor Impact Assessments and (V)ROMs (≈ 5%) • Drive adoptionof DevSecOps best practices within MeF (≈ 5%) Required Qualifications • 8+ years developing security architectures for large, complex programs • 8+ years leading architects and/or developer teams • 8+ years of strong customer communication skills (oral & written) • 5+ years of security architecture experience for Cloud applications • 5+ years of security architecture experience for containerized applications • 4+ years with AWS GovCloud security solutions • 4+ years with microservices security and Spring Boot architecture • 4+ years enhancing Portal architectures and developing DevSecOps solutions • 4+ years working on Linux platforms and with configuration management tools (e.g., IBM EWM, Git SCM) • 3+ years developing (V)ROM estimates for new work requests • CISSP Certification (required) Preferred Skills • Security requirements and architecture for monitoring solutions • Relational database security experience • Familiarity with CMMI Level 3 process areas • Experience with Agile and Lean methodologies • Experience with Azure Government and Google Cloud for Government • Experience with WebMethods, ESB, API Gateways, Event-Driven Architecture, and Kafka • Experience with Ping Identity Why Join Us At S2 Technovations, you’ll work on mission-critical federal systems powering the nation’s tax infrastructure.
