About you:
- We are looking for a person to provide support and leadership to the Mezcal TPO team in the liquid and packaging processes to support the quality and safety of our products.
- Support integral management systems to identify quality risks involved across the process, and participate in supporting the improvement of these risks through a structured program of root cause analysis, standardization, coaching, and effective communication.
- The role requires working closely with Mezcal Operations teams to drive action on improvement opportunities to resolve critical issues; applying improvement tools and techniques necessary to find the root cause and sustainable improvements in the processes.
- Monitoring and support of performance about quality indicators and related processes.
- Lead and support Diageo and Mezcal operations team about prioritization and resolution of problems related to quality, liquid and packaging process.
- Provide experience in the application of diagnostic tools and quality improvement, such as root cause problem solving, 5S fundamentals, DMAIC, RCA, 8D's and standardization techniques.
- Participate in the definition of objectives and communicate unusual situations to the management team involved to guide on opportunities for cost reduction and/or process improvements.
- Manage and lead relationships, create the conditions for people to grow and succeed.
- Leadership and influence skills: the ability to get to the cause, articulate when presenting an idea or defining a problem, and participate in debates based on facts.

About the role:
The Mezcal Quality Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the supply chain, both internal and third-party operations, meet Diageo's quality standards. This role involves coordinating quality assurance processes, conducting audits, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
Internal Operations
- Quality Assurance: Develop and implement quality assurance protocols to ensure compliance with Diageo's standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas for process improvements within the internal supply chain and implement corrective actions.
- Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for staff on quality control procedures and best practices.
- Audits & Inspections: Regularly conduct internal audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards.
Third-Party Operations
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party operations (TPOs) to ensure they meet Diageo's quality requirements.
- Compliance Monitoring: Monitor compliance of third-party operators with contractual obligations related to quality standards.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate the performance of third-party operators through regular reviews and audits.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify risks associated with third-party operations and develop mitigation strategies.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with procurement, production, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure seamless integration of quality processes across the category.
- Partner Communication: Maintain effective communication channels with all important partners, including suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management, Quality Assurance, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred but not required.
- Experience: From 3 to 5 years of experience in quality management within a supply chain context. Experience working with both internal operations and third-party logistics providers is essential.
- Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt are advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with an ability to identify root causes of issues.
- Excellent communication skills for effective partner management.
- Proficiency in quality management software systems (e.g., QMS).
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
The success of this role will be measured by:
Reduction in non-conformance incidents within the supply chain. Improved compliance rates among third-party logistics providers. Enhanced overall product quality as evidenced by fewer customer complaints. Successful implementation of process improvements leads to cost savings or efficiency gains.
