Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Rail/Transit Engineer for employment in its established Rail Engineering Department in the Philadelphia office. The Philadelphia track team engages and works side by side with career rail professionals throughout the US to deliver projects for both transit and freight clients.

This position offers opportunity to contribute to heavy rail, light rail transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail, and freight rail projects of all sizes from planning through final design and construction. The team utilizes the latest software to deliver fast-paced, multi-discipline designs to meet the unique needs of a diverse pool of clients.

This is a hybrid office and remote position, and a fully remote position could be considered for non-local candidates.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Builds analytic and design skills
  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 4 years of roadway or rail civil engineering experience with a focus on roadway or rail experience
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training Certification (EIT)
  • Proficient with Civil 3D, InRoads, OpenRoads software packages
  • Master's degree in Civil Engineer with a focus on Transportation or Rail, a plus

This role requires travel to projects throughout the United States

Offered rate of compensation (NYC locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $90,000 to $150,000.

Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is: $80,000 - $120,000.
