Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Traffic Engineer to be based in Chelmsford, Massachusetts with the option of working from the Boston MA, Manchester NH or Providence RI offices.
This position is expected to begin in November 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Builds analytic and design skills.
- Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for traffic engineering projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
- Proficient at design software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, SignCAD, and other applicable programs to create traffic engineering designs.
- Proficient using microsimulation software such as VISSIM and Synchro or TransModeler to create traffic models and simulations.
- Research and analyze emerging technologies such as connected vehicles, automated vehicles, adaptive signal control technology, and communications networks.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Traffic or Transportation Engineering or closely related field and 4 years of relevantTraffic Engineering experience through work experience or a combination of academic & work experience (demonstrated equivalency of work &/or education)
- Valid Driver's License
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) required
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) preferred
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as of AutoCAD, and MicroStation, SignCAD)
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft 360 Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Experience with traffic modeling and simulation software (VISSIM, Synchro, or TransModeler)
- Knowledge of connected vehicles, automated vehicles, and adaptive signal control technology design.
- IMSA certicication.
