Job Description Position:Middle/High School ELA and Science Educator School:Arrow Preparatory Academy Type:.8 , Contract (Approx. 32-34 hrs/week - 18 Student Contact/ 16 hours prep/planning) About Arrow Preparatory Academy Arrow Preparatory Academy seeks an outstanding Middle/High School ELA and Science Educator who is deeply committed to teaching, nurturing, and modeling Jesus-like character. Position Overview As a teacher at Arrow Prep, you will: • Lead students in engaging explorations of Science and ELA. • Help students grow in empathy, communication, and critical thinking. • Foster a passion for literature, discovery, and lifelong learning. • Reinforce each student’s identity as animage bearer of God. The ideal candidate isdriven, flexible, creative, and curious with a growing passion forthe benefits of the University Model of education. Qualifications • Love God and have a passionate heart for education. • Washington State Certified Teacher (or equivalent). • Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) with willingness to learn new programs. • Strong oral and written communication skills. • Experience with hands-on, individualized education (e.g., Montessori, Charlotte Mason or similar). • Punctual, diligent, Dependable, adaptable, and patient. ResponsibilitiesCharacter • Display a passion for God and commitment to His Word. • Demonstrate Christ-honoring humility and teachability. • Exhibit love for learning and for educating children. Assisting Families • Partner with parents in their role as spiritual and academic mentors. • Serve as a positive role model for students. • Communicate effectively with families in a timely manner. • Provide quarterly assessments and lead parent-teacher conferences. • Maintain and update Google Classroom regularly. Assisting Students • Support each student’s spiritual, academic, and moral development. • Assess student work and provide feedback to ensure growth. • Encourage independence, self-motivation, and engagement. Curriculum & Classroom Management • Develop and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning styles. • Create hands-on, interactive learning opportunities. • Prepare weekly lesson plans and home assignment sheets. • Maintain an orderly, peaceful, and engaging classroom environment. • Practice effective time management. School Involvement • Supervise students during snack, lunch, and recess. • Participate in school events (parent training, socials, info sessions, etc.). • Support administration with policies, evaluations, and development. • Maintain a clean and organized classroom. • Monitor dress code and attendance. Compensation & Benefits • Salary:Starts at $38,000 + (commensurate with experience and qualifications). • Hours:~about 18 student contact hours + ~16 prep/meeting hours. • Events and training outside of regular hours. • Pay distributed via direct deposit every two weeks.
