Eventscape has an exciting opportunity for an experiencedCarpenter (Custom Millwork Fabricator)to join our woodshop. The ideal candidate will be an elite craftsperson and natural leader, with experience with all aspects of architectural millwork fabrication and familiarity with a variety of materials. ABOUT THE ROLE Thecustom millwork fabricatorposition will: β€’ manufacture and assemble high-quality custom architectural elements and structures β€’ read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches and to understand project specifications β€’ determine tolerances and test project elements β€’ operate all woodworking machinery, finishing equipment, power tools, and hand tools β€’ work with different materials, including solid surfaces, epoxy, metals, melamine, solid wood, wood products β€’ perform exact measurements, ensure precise installation of hardware and other elements β€’ perform wood finishing, sanding, staining, and applying finishes β€’ monitor quality across the team and ensure each piece is fabricated to a high standard β€’ plan and execute fabrication strategies; oversee and manage junior fabricators and assistants β€’ manage schedules to meet deadlines and provide consistent, regular project updates to management β€’ maintain awareness of inventory and requirements for upcoming projects β€’ ensure safe work practices are adhered to and follow all safety policies and procedures β€’ maintain a clean and tidy work area and facilitate required repairs and maintenance to all equipment ABOUT YOU To succeed in this role, you will have: β€’ training from a relevant program such as woodworking, millwork, carpentry or cabinetmakingORan acceptable combination of education, training, and experience β€’ experience as a lead-hand or senior fabricator β€’ a passion for challenging fabrication and tight tolerances β€’ the ability to self-motivate and be schedule conscious β€’ a strong attention to detail and amazing problem-solving skills β€’ competency in reading and interpreting blueprints/drawings β€’ a thorough understanding of health and safety principles and practices β€’ a willingness to collaborate with a team and work independently when needed β€’ an in-depth understanding of fabrication processes and manufacturing/building materials β€’ experience with materials like wood, solid surfaces, fabric, acrylic, glass, leather β€’ flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends WHY JOIN EVENTSCAPE? β€’ claim your place in our collaborative and supportive network of multi-disciplinary architectural fabrication experts β€’ join in on frequent contests, celebrations, and unique social activities β€’ be inspired and challenged by our team of the most creative, talented, and passionate individuals β€’ a regular Monday to Friday work schedule β€’ a fast-growing company with opportunities for advancement β€’ enjoy being at the forefront of technological innovation with our state-of-the-art machinery β€’ the opportunity to work on unique and challenging projects and… β€’ the reward of seeing those projects come to life through fabrication and installation β€’ extended health and dental benefits β€’ be part of a socially conscious and family-owned company APPLY NOW Apply now with your resume and1-2 lines about your how your experience relates to advanced custom architectural fabrication.For more information or if you need disability accommodation, contact human resources at (416) 231-8855.
