The VA Loma Linda has an opening for an energetic, driven, and compassionate Physician in healthcare to serve as a Nephrologist.

Facility Details: VA Loma Linda Healthcare System (VALLHCS) is actively recruiting to fill a Board Certified or Board Eligible Nephrologist to help care for our Veterans – America’s Heroes! Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at Loma Linda University & be involved with the education & teaching of medical students, residents & other providers. Position Details:

• Function as the expert for patient care related to acute, chronic, and end-stage kidney disease, fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base disorders.
• Develop treatment plans, including but not limited to dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy).
• Round on hospitalized patients, attending clinics, writing of prescription medications, writing for consultative services, diet instruction, and other physician-driven or exclusive decisions.
• Provide evaluations and treatment recommendations, including acute dialysis orders, for hospitalized patients.
• Provide on-phone/on-call coverage on an as-needed basis during times when the provider is not present at either campus to include holidays, night, and weekends.
• Ability to perform procedures including temporary hemodialysis catheter placement and ultrasound guided kidney biopsies.
• Active participation in teaching programs/Nephrology fellowship with faculty appointment at academic affiliate expected.

Experience and interest in managing patients with kidney transplant and patients receiving home modalities of dialysis is strongly preferred. Additionally, completion of advanced training in research methodology is highly desirable.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, (Includes participation in On-Call coverage for evenings, weekends and holidays)

Salary Range: $330,000-$360,000

Board certification or Board eligible in Nephrology is preferred.
