About the Role: 

The Network Tools Administrator (“NTA”) is Subject Matter Expert for SolarWinds growth at Cable One and the first line of support for Cable One employees when they have problems or questions pertaining to SolarWinds. The NTA will also be responsible for diagnosis, resolution, and escalation of support tickets for general networking related issues (route/switch) and the Corporate hosted UC system. Strong skills in problem solving and detailed documentation are vital to the success in the NTA role at Cable One. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate backend architecture and make recommendations for growth
    • If recommendations approved, work with proper teams to perform upgrades
  • Install and configure needed pollers
  • Install and configure needed Solarwinds modules
  • Clean up and organize current modules
  • Make recommendations on module purchases and improvements within the tool
    • Perform approved recommendations
  • Work with team members to actively use and grow SolarWinds
  • Work with Level 2 support to document procedures and update the Help Center to help decrease escalations and increase first call resolution.
  • Utilize company ticketing system to track and respond to incoming phone (80%) and email (20%) service requests in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Interests:

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and relevant experience
  • Minimum 3 year of experience with SolarWinds in small to medium enterprises required
  • CCNA R/S preferred (Written Exam)
  • Experience with the following technologies: SolarWinds, Windows Ecosystem (Windows Client & Active Directory), tool integration(Moogsoft preferred), Networking Basics: (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN), data validation.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment
  • Ability to approach customer and sales requests with a proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user requests and needs and effectively deliver
  • Comfortable managing multiple and changing priorities, and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong ability to operate independently
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel)

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
