News Intern- Spring 2025

The goal of the WJAC-TV news internship is to give you a well-rounded view of a broadcast operation. We can focus your experience on what interests you, while making sure you see how all other positions play into our goal of being the best media source in our market. We have opportunities on learning how to shoot video, write scripts and put together on-air reports. We also can focus on the behind-the-scenes aspects from producing a broadcast newscast to creating digital content for the web and social media platforms.

We have two locations for interns; in our broadcast studios/newsroom in Johnstown, PA and our news bureau in State College, PA.

Requirements:

• Must be attending an accredited college or university and studying mass communications, journalism, or related major
• Each intern is required to work 10-20 hours a week;
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must receive academic credit for the internship experience
• Must be registered for college at his or her institution during the quarter or semester in which the internship is performed
• Must have reliable transportation
• This is an unpaid internship; credit verification forms will be provided.
