The CNC Machinist is responsible for basic programming and operation of computer numerical control (CNC) machines, troubleshooting, reading, and interpreting blueprints, tooling changes, and inspection of machined parts. Duties: Machine Operation 85% • Program machinery for operation according to instructions • Monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops • Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production • Inspect parts to specifications making adjustments, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications • Inspect 1st article parts by using hand tools • Communicate with team members and support teams to ensure continuous production of the correct product at high quality levels with minimal wasted time and material Machine Maintenance 15% • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. • Conduct regular machine assessments • Monitor machine oil levels • Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness in work area Qualifications and Skills Required • 3-5 years of operating and/or programming experience on CNC (computer numerical control) machines in a manufacturing facility or similar relevant skills or experience • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals • Analytical and numerical skills: ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement • Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail • The ability to lift heavy objects up to 30 pounds and able to stand for extended periods • Ability to follow written and oral instructions • Self-motivated team player • High school diploma or equivalent • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary)
