OBGYN Laborist

A well-established, full-scope private OB/GYN practice with offices in Queens and Nassau Counties is looking to add a laborist to its growing practice.

They are a well-balanced group with a 50/50 OB/GYN ratio and approximately 1200 deliveries and 750 GYN cases per/year. The group consists of 11 OBGYN physicians and 16 APPs. The new hire will be working entirely out of a tertiary care facility with a level III nursery and all services in-house, and there is always backup support. The Medical Center is widely recognized for providing outstanding health care to women throughout every stage of life.

They have been designated a New York State Regional Perinatal Center, offering the highest level of care for mothers and babies. It’s a salaried position based on three 12-hour weekday shifts each week (2 days and 1 night) and one 12-hour shift (day or night) every three weekends. The Laborist would only cover the group's patients.

The group relies on the laborist to cover L&D, and the group's physicians would be available for backup and would likely end up handling scheduled C-sections. There are no unassigned patients, and there is CNM support during the day and NP support for rounds. Salary is $375,000 with occurrence malpractice and health benefits.
