On-Site Engineer (m/f/x)

Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Technology Lifecycle Services (TLS) is expanded its footprint in Switzerland and looking for talented On-Site Engineers (OSE). On-Site Engineers are Software system engineers providing infrastructure-based Services. Your typical activities will include supporting your assigned clients on-site their respective premises in the following activities:

• Planning implementing configuration using maintaining debugging and upgrading products of defined IBM Software.
• Perform architecture engineering design and implementation tasks.
• Triage the communication between client contacts and wider IBM organisation; e.g. access to IBM’s Software laboratory support for problem determination and to submit relevant information rapidly.
• Track follow-up escalate and coordinate resolution of reported Problem Management Reports.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Expert knowledge of IBM Mainframe and z/OS.
• Knowledge in at least two of the following technologies: DB2 CICS Websphere GDPS performance tuning automation or hardware configuration management.
• High service orientation and consultancy mindset; the role requires establishing a strong network in your client on technical expert and management level.
• Fluent German and / or English language skills.
• Willingness to work on-site client premises especially in Zürich Bern and Basel area.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience in a Mainframe technical expert or consultancy role.
• Experience working in a global virtual team.
• IBM technical certifications especially related to IBM Mainframe and z/OS are a plus.
