Operations Planner

Gowan Milling has an exciting opportunity in our Blytheville, Arkansas plant. Our story begins over 50 years ago in the fields of Yuma, AZ, U.S.A, where owner and founder Jon Jessen began a science-based crop consultancy business scouting local farms for pests.

Job Duties

• Operations
• Under the direction of the Production Manager, they will manage the production schedule.
• Update team on large modifications to orders from customers.
• Update senior team if there are delays or gaining time in production lines.
• Responsible for ongoing management & delivery of operations plans to all necessary parties.
• Coordinate daily with production supervisors and superintendent in regards to being on schedule.
• Work with Production Manager and Quality Manager to prepare production books for production team.
• Get updates on the production floor if needed.
• Work with purchasing specialist on purchasing materials for upcoming campaigns.
• Logistics
• Coordinate daily with logistics personnel for any possible delays in material arrivals.
• Maintain close relationship with logistics to ensure all needed components will be ready for production readiness.
• Work closely with logistics to ensure that the finished product is being shipped off site.
• E1 data entering and ensuring data integrity.
• Update spreadsheets for receipts, daily production, and shipments.
• Working with logistics conduct end of campaign counts, and inventory adjustments in the system.
• Send out monthly inventory reports.
• Customers
• Keep customers up to date on any operational changes to the plan.
• Meet with the customers on a consistent basis to ensure planning is aligned.
• Facilitate, coordinate, and document regularly scheduled meetings.
• Work with business development on sending invoices to customers.
• Responsible for ensuring that all pertinent parties are aware of all customers’ requests regarding planning.
• Develop strong relationships with customers and ensure they receive strong customer service.
• Answer all customer inquiries by coordinating with the right subject matter expert.
• Assist customers with being their eyes and ears for the manufacturing of their product.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs with emphasis in Excel
• Experience in ERP System
• Follows written and verbal instructions
• Communicates effectively and professionally both verbally and in writing
• Ability to create and maintain accurate spreadsheets, reports, and files
• Ability to review and check submitted work of others to ensure accuracy
• Possesses a general understanding of accounting principles
• Ability to function as part of a team to accomplish the goals of the department
• Must follow all safety requirements of working in a manufacturing environment.
