Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Opportunity in San Francisco, CA

• Make oral and radiographic examinations of the oral cavity and its adjacent tissues and structures.
• Diagnose and manage pathological or irregular oral conditions.
• Assess medical history and apply knowledge to the management of patients.
• Administer local and regional anesthesia, anxiolysis, and IV sedation procedures, as required by the clinical setting.
• Accomplish admissions, work-up and performance of surgical procedures of patients presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial regions.
• Perform dental-alveolar surgical procedures, dental implant surgery, pre-prosthetic surgery, reduction of facial fractures, reconstructive surgery, management of localized and deep space infections, orthognathic surgery, temporomandibular joint surgery, placement of dental implants, minor and major bone grafting, and biopsy procedures and management of oral pathologic conditions, as required by the clinical setting.
• Supervise/teach upper level residents from the UCSF OMFS program.
• Work collaboratively with staff specialists in Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Restorative, Orthodontics, Dental Sleep Medicine and Oral Pathology.
