Orbital Welder — Malaysia Assignment (Austin, TX)

CKD USA is hiring an experienced Orbital Welder to manufacture high-precision weldments (butt-welding) in a Class 100 cleanroom. This role maintains station/equipment cleanliness and ensures all welds meet stringent quality requirements. Report all activities in responsible area to Production Supervisor as required. What you’ll do • Operate and maintain orbital welding equipment and tooling • Perform orbital welding of gas lines ¼”–½” diameter to blueprint specifications • Make minor adjustments to weldments using hand tools • Complete daily/routine/preventive maintenance on welding equipment • Follow all safety rules and procedures; present a professional, respectful image • Perform other related duties as assigned Must-have requirements • Valid passport and ability to travel to Malaysia for up to 6 months • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) — American Welding Society (AWS) • Previous orbital welding experience (required); related butt-welding experience preferred • Ability to read/interpret blueprints; strong attention to detail and quality focus • Solid mechanical aptitude; comfortable with common hand/power tools • Strong communication and teamwork skills; basic computer proficiency Nice to have • Knowledge of high-vacuum systems • Technician coursework or AA technical degree (preferred) • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred) Physical & work environment • Stooping/kneeling/crouching/reaching; lift up to 25 lbs (with assistance above 25 lbs) • Close/distance/peripheral/depth vision; ability to focus • Typical production & office environment; PPE as required; exposure to moving parts/chemicals and moderate noise Location Onsite at our Austin, TX facility, with extended assignment in Malaysia.
