Job Title:Overnight Staff Pharmacist (503A Mail Order Pharmacy)

Shifts Available:
• Shift A: 6:30 PM – 2:30 AM
• Shift B: 12:30 AM – 7:30 AM
Position Summary:
We are seeking detail-oriented, reliable, and experiencedOvernight Staff Pharmaciststo support our high-volume 503A mail order compounding pharmacy. This role is responsible for clinical verification of prescriptions, sterile and non-sterile lab oversight, and ensuring compliance with USP regulations and applicable laws. The pharmacist will help maintain accurate and timely dispensing of medications and oversee safe overnight operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prescription Review & Verification:
• Accurately verify compounded and non-compounded prescriptions for appropriateness, dosing, and legality.
• Confirm patient-specific information including allergies, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness.
• Ensure all prescriptions comply with 503A guidelines and state board of pharmacy regulations.
Sterile & Non-Sterile Lab Oversight (may be required):
• Provide pharmacist oversight for compounding operations occurring overnight, including both sterile (USP <797>) and non-sterile (USP <795>) preparations.
• Ensure aseptic techniques, gowning procedures, and environmental conditions are adhered to in the cleanroom.
• Review and sign off on batch records, MFRs, compounding logs, and any required quality control documentation.
• Address and document any lab-related issues or deviations per pharmacy SOP.
Order Processing & Fulfillment:
• Collaborate with overnight technicians to ensure timely preparation and packaging of orders.
• Conduct final product verification and release for shipping in accordance with QA procedures.
• Monitor inventory of compounded and finished products to ensure continuity of overnight operations.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
• Uphold USP <795>, <797>, and <800> standards.
• Maintain records in accordance with state, DEA, and internal regulatory requirements.
• Assist in maintaining proper documentation and performing QA checks where applicable.
Communication & Documentation:
• Communicate patient or provider issues requiring follow-up to the day shift team.
• Document all verifications, interventions, and communications per SOP and in pharmacy software (e.g., LifeFile, Liberty, or equivalent).
• Provide clinical guidance and oversight to overnight compounding staff.
Safety & Security:
• Respond to any emergencies or urgent orders that may occur during the shift.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active and unrestricted Pharmacist license in Texas
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or BS in Pharmacy
• Experience as a staff pharmacist (503A preferred)
• Ability to work overnight independently and make clinical decisions without immediate supervision
• Familiarity with USP compounding standards
• Strong attention to detail and working knowledge of pharmacy software
Preferred:
• Experience with USP <797>/<800> sterile compounding oversight
• Familiarity with LifeFile, PK Software, or other platforms
• Prior experience in a high-volume pharmacy
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
• Overnight work environment may be independent or with limited staff on-site

Pay:Competitive overnight shift differential + base salary (based on experience)
