Packaging Machine Operator

Position Summary We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Machine Operator (PMO) to join our team. The PMO is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate packaging of products within our warehouse facility. This role is ideal for candidates who have a strong background in manufacturing and are comfortable with mechanical equipment. *Compensation will be commensurate with experience. Key Responsibilities · Operate packaging machinery, including logic controllers and mechanical equipment. · Load and unload products from warehouse storage and onto packaging lines. · Inspect packaged products for defects or damage. · Verify bags are properly centered in line with the graphics on the bags. · Perform size changeovers as needed per production demand with minimum down time. · Adjust the weights of the product to achieve the stated net weight minimizing over or under weight product. · Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment. · Perform basic mechanical adjustments or repairs as needed. · Notify Production Supervisor of any issues that require assistance from maintenance. · Document machine down time, film shrinkage and other metrics as required. · Identify and report any packaging errors or discrepancies · Maintain all tools and equipment in a sanitary condition. · Report parts usage and any shortages of equipment components to Production Supervisor. · Performs other duties as requested by management. * BILINGUAL PREFERRED Required Qualifications · Strong mechanical knowledge and experience with packaging machinery. · Communicates effectively: conveys facts and information clearly both verbally and orally. · Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance. · Must be able to work under pressure while maintaining a cheerful outlook. · Understanding of form, fill and seal packaging machines preferred. · Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. · Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet or exceed production goals. · Collaborates, proactively contributes to group objectives and volunteers to help others. · Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and other physical tasks. Work Environment & Attributes · Outdoor work environment with exposure to weather, dust, and noise. · Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 100-pound bags. · Stand for extended periods. · Work hours: · Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
