Part-Time Custodian

Position Overview The Ice Rink Custodian is responsible for ensuring a clean, organized, and safe facility for all patrons and staff. This position is responsible for the daily upkeep of all public and operational areas within the ice arena, maintaining the aesthetic and hygienic standards expected of a professional recreation facility. The custodian works closely with rink managers, maintenance staff, and event personnel to support smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Include • Performs routine custodial duties to ensure spaces are prepared for their next use • Sweeps and mops floors and vacuums carpets • Cleans toilets, sinks, showers and restock disposables • Wipes mirrors and windows • Maintains the condition of the parking lot • Operates floor care equipment • Empties garbage cans • Prepares and clears event spaces, including equipment installation and removal • Adheres to and follows safety and security practices • Assists renters and occupants in a courteous and polite manner • Participates in snow removal operations, when required • Performs light maintenance, as needed • Performs other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager • Performs routine checks for trip hazards, leaks, or unsafe conditions • Reports on damage or equipment issues promptly to management Important Attributes and Skills • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks • Ability to overcome challenges when performing routine and special projects • Knowledge of housekeeping • Apply appropriate safety measures • Provide insight on daily tasks, when necessary • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines Reports to the Facilities Manager Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week Benefits: • Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
