Overview We are seeking a talented and passionate PASTRY Sous Chef to join our culinary team at DAKOTA'S STEAKHOUSE. In this role, you will assist the Head Chef and Pastry Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation. You will play a crucial part in food production and preparation, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, with a focus on culinary excellence and customer service. Duties • Assist in the preparation and cooking of high-quality dishes according to established recipes and standards. • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety protocols. • Participate in menu planning and development, including seasonal specials and catering options. • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, adhering to health and safety regulations. • Handle food packaging for take-out orders and catering services. • Train new kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques, food handling, and safety practices. • Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and address any customer inquiries or concerns. Skills • Proven experience in a culinary role within the restaurant or catering industry. • Strong cooking skills with proficiency in various cooking methods and techniques. • Experience in cake decorating, baking, and pastry preparation is highly desirable. • Excellent knife skills for efficient food preparation. • Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for food handling. • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. • Strong customer service skills to enhance guest satisfaction. • Previous kitchen experience with a focus on teamwork and collaboration. • Familiarity with packaging techniques for take-out orders.
