Payroll Specialist

The Position:

Arrowhead seeks a Payroll Specialist to join its Accounting Team. This individual will report into Arrowhead’s Senior Payroll Manager. This individual will be responsible for processing all aspects Arrowhead’s biweekly payroll for its 3 sites in Pasadena, CA, San Diego, CA, and Madison, WI, and out-of-sequence payrolls as needed. This individual will also be responsible for administering daily and quarterly equity compensation transactions (stock option and restricted stock unit activity). The individual will work closely with members of the Accounting Team, and the Human Resources Team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately entering all payroll and timekeeping changes into ADP WFN, for entire employee population
• Onboarding new hires using ADP WFN
• Calculating final pay for upcoming terminations and processing their separation through ADP WFN
• Reviewing and processing biweekly timecards; following up with employees and supervisors as needed
• Maintaining timecards to ensure leave of absence employees are paid correctly
• Entering time off adjustments and updating accruals as needed
• Entering manual checks into ADP for equity compensation transactions to confirm tax accuracy between ADP and Arrowhead’s equity compensation systems
• Ensuring all employee changes and pay data has been entered accurately and preparing payroll preview reports for review in a timely manner
• Creating and maintaining equity compensation checklists, routing as needed in a timely manner for completion, and closing out checklists once complete
• Assist employees and supervisors in the usage of ADP’s Time and Attendance module across all sites
• Respond to payroll inquiries and escalate when required
• Prepare payroll reports as needed
• Ad hoc payroll-related projects
• Maintain discretion and confidentiality
• Maintain electronic and paper payroll filing systems

• Minimum of 2 recent years of payroll experience
• Associate degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Must be able to keep up with a fast past while maintaining attention to detail
• Ability to gather, analyze and interpret information for completeness and accuracy, and excellent organizational skills
• Recent experience with current version of ADP WFN and advanced Excel skills
• Knowledge of wage and hour laws related to payroll
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
• Strong communication skills (oral & written); ability to effectively interact with others at all levels – within and outside of finance
• Flexibility to put in extra hours during critical times
• Strong time management with the ability to work independently and in a group setting

Preferred:

• Knowledge of equity compensation administration is a plus
