Payroll Tax Accountant

This multinational global chain is looking for a Tax Accountant to support its payroll tax function. In this role, you’ll ensure timely and accurate payroll tax remittances and filings, support audits, identify and recommend process improvements, and provide guidance on payroll tax matters across the organization. Tax Accountant II Responsibilities: • Work on year-end payroll tax tasks, including handling large datasets in Excel • Balance daily payroll tax payments and reconcile stock transactions • Manage payroll tax inbox and respond to inquiries and internal cases • Perform audit-related work and analyze large volumes of data • Maintain and update records with tax authorities • Identify issues in payroll tax processes and recommend viable solutions • Support implementation of tax process improvements • Proactively track trends through data and metrics to support compliance • Provide insights and updates based on changes in legislation or internal processes • Collaborate with internal teams and offer guidance on payroll tax best practices Tax Accountant II Qualifications: • 2+ years of payroll tax experience, including payment, reconciliation, and filing • 2+ years of experience in customer service and problem-solving in a tax environment • 2+ years of experience with multi-state and provincial tax reporting • Familiarity with federal, state, local, and provincial labor laws • Proficiency in SAP, SuccessFactors, or ADP • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas) • Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple deadlines Job Type: Contract Pay: $48.00 - $54.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: Hybrid remote in Seattle, WA 98134
