Per Diem Medication Accountability Pharmacist

In this key role as a Per Diem Medication Accountability Pharmacist you will perform a range of functions that include but are not limited to, performing medication management functions in support of departmental and organizational quality, safety, regulatory, and education priorities across the health-system. You will collaborate closely with other members of the health care team to help prevent inappropriate or misuse of medications. Ability to travel to different areas within pharmacy department. Hourly Salary: $103.31 (Standard Per Diem Rate) Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE Qualifications We’re seeking a dedicated clinical professional with: • Pharm D. degree and current CA Pharmacy license (required) • At least 2 years of applicable controlled substances management/regulatory compliance in hospital setting (required) • Min 5 years of experience with PGY 1 or PGY 2 training or 7 years of pharmacist experience • ASHP-accredited residency (preferred) • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coworkers and professional staff. • Ability to set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. • Ability to work independently and follow-through on assignments with minimal supervision. • Ability to read and understand and interpret current scientific literature. • Ability to effectively communicate orally on a one-to-one basis using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and to persuade others to adopt a specific opinion or action. • Knowledge of and ability to perform age specific and disease specific pharmacokinetic calculations. • Ability to compound intravenous admixtures and other sterile products such as ophthalmic preparations and intrathecal injections according to acceptable standards of aseptic technique.
