Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to join an expanding specialized team within a large healthcare system in San Antonio, Texas. The candidate will provide in person and telehealth care to patients with various complex chronic illnesses. The candidate will be joining a team of specialized providers, pharmacy staff and clinical data coordinators to provide care, collect data for clinical registries, coordinate with specialty pharmacies and assist with patient medication access. We are interested in employing a highly motivated, well-organized person to join our team. Candidate must be knowledgeable of applicable federal and state pharmacy laws. Candidate must be familiar with specialty medications, prior authorization process, proper medication dosing and collaboration with payers. The normal work hours are 8 AM-5 PM Monday-Friday but may require staying beyond 5 PM if urgent patient issues arise. Candidate must be able to reliably commute to our San Antonio office. Job duties include but are not limited to: β€’ Contact pharmacies for information regarding patient’s medications β€’ Conduct patient outreach calls regarding drug compliance, drug:drug interactions and overall patient management β€’ Contact insurance companies for prior authorization approval status β€’ Troubleshoot and resolve billing rejections with pharmacies and third-party plans β€’ Assist with patient medication assistance programs and copay assistance β€’ Receive and inventory patient medications shipped to the office Education/Experience: β€’ Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy (RPh) (required) β€’ Active Texas state pharmacy license in good standing with Texas State Board of Pharmacy (required) β€’ Minimum of 1 year experience as a registered pharmacist (required) β€’ Certified Specialty Pharmacist (preferred) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year Benefits: β€’ 401(k) β€’ 401(k) matching β€’ Dental insurance β€’ Employee discount β€’ Flexible schedule β€’ Flexible spending account β€’ Health insurance β€’ Life insurance β€’ Retirement plan β€’ Vision insurance Ability to Commute: β€’ San Antonio, TX 78229 (Required) Work Location: In person
