Pharmacist (Full-Time)

Location: Portsmouth Naval Medical Center & Surrounding Clinics – Virginia Company: U.S. Got People (USGP)

USGP is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to provide full-time support at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth and nearby medical facilities. This is a unique opportunity to serve active-duty service members, veterans, and their families in a respected federal healthcare environment.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
  • Graduate of a pharmacy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)
  • Must have completed at least 15 hours of ACPE-approved continuing education within the past 2 years Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year of professional pharmacy experience within the last 36 months
  • Experience with pharmacy computer systems (e.g., DHA MHS GENESIS, retail or hospital pharmacy systems) Licensure:
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted pharmacist license

Immunization Requirements (Must be current or able to obtain):

  • Hepatitis B (series and titer)
  • Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
  • Varicella (Chickenpox)
  • TB (Tuberculosis) test
  • Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccine
  • COVID-19 vaccine (if applicable) Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care and services
  • Review patient profiles and prescriptions to monitor medication therapy
  • Counsel patients on medication usage, interactions, and side effects
  • Accurately check a minimum of 50 prescriptions per hour, and intervene with providers as necessary for any discrepancies
  • Compound medications when required
  • Ensure all medications prepared or processed by pharmacy technicians meet safety and accuracy standards
  • Supervise pharmaceutical inventory, particularly controlled substances
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and security protocols related to drug storage and dispensing
  • Maintain accurate records for all scheduled and controlled substances Why USGP?
