Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee pharmacy operations and ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care. This role is essential in managing pharmacy staff, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and providing exceptional patient service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both clinical and operational aspects of pharmacy, with a focus on patient assessment and medication management.
Responsibilities
• Supervise daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with all federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
• Manage pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Oversee medication dispensing processes, including compounding medications.
• Conduct patient assessments to ensure appropriate medication therapy management.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care plans and medication administration.
• Maintain accurate inventory management practices to ensure the availability of medications.
• Utilize pharmacy software, EMR systems, and EHR systems for effective documentation and patient management.
• Provide immunizations and educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and pain management strategies.
• Stay current with advancements in pharmacotherapy, anatomy knowledge, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to enhance clinical services.
Requirements
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
• Active pharmacist license in the state of practice.
• Experience in LTC pharmacy or hospital settings preferred.
• Critical care experience or completion of a pharmacy residency is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on pediatrics and acute care settings.
• Proficiency in aseptic technique and IV insertion practices.
• Familiarity with medical management protocols related to patient care.
• Previous experience supervising pharmacy technicians is an advantage.

Pay: $59.32 - $71.43 per hour
