About Honeybee:
Honeybee is a closed‑door, mission‑driven pharmacy with our main hive in Culver City. We were the first—and are the largest—pharmacy certified to dispense the medication abortion drug mifepristone. We partner with telehealth providers nationwide for backend pharmacy fulfillment and work directly with patients to deliver affordable generics right to their homes. As a fast‑growing health‑tech startup, we offer an environment unlike any traditional pharmacy. We bee‑lieve in hard work, but not without having some fun along the way.
Position Overview:As General Manager, you are the linchpin of Honeybee’s operational success. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will:
• Lead & empowera multidisciplinary team—pharmacists, technicians, and shippers—to set their own goals, collaborate effectively, and continuously improve.
• Own operational excellenceby embedding continuous improvement, Lean principles, and data-informed decision‑making into every process.
• Team up with Compliance to ensure quality, efficiency, and safetyremain front and center in all pharmacy activities.
Core Responsibilities
1. Leadership, Culture & Team Ownership
• Define & delegate:Set clear objectives and let your team design the path to achieve them. Empower bees at every level to own projects from workflow redesigns to new partnership pilots.
• Coaching for growth:Create personalized development plans, run regular one‑on‑ones, and provide actionable feedback that helps each team member stretch beyond today’s role.
• Build a supportive hive:Shape a culture of psychological safety where questions, ideas, and healthy debate are encouraged. Lead by example in transparency, respect, and peer mentorship.
• Strategic hiring & retention:Partner on recruitment to bring in talent aligned with our values. Oversee immersive onboarding and build career‑path roadmaps so team members stay challenged and engaged.
• Celebrate success:Spots team wins and establishes rituals that recognize achievements and reinforce our mission.
2. Operational Excellence
• Process optimization:Map end‑to‑end workflows; analyze systems to eliminate waste, reduce errors, and accelerate order turnaround.Metrics & dashboards:Define KPIs (cycle time, accuracy rate, throughput) and implement real‑time tracking to drive continuous improvement.
• Strategic methodology:Embed your preferred operational framework (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) into daily routines; empower frontline staff to pilot data‑backed enhancements.
• Technology enablement:Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure our tools support long‑term operational goals and deliver actionable analytics back to the floor.
3. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
• Pilot new ideas:Execute novel company projects and partnerships, ensuring we’re ready to scale successful pilots—or quickly pivot if needed.Benchmarking:Stay current on best practices in healthcare operations; introduce fresh concepts to elevate Honeybee’s standard of excellence.
• Partner feedback loops:Gather insights from telehealth partners and patients, translating feedback into tangible process or service enhancements.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree (Pharmacy, Healthcare Management, or related field a plus)
• Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience - big plus if that experience is in pharmacy, as a pharmacist, or in healthcare operations more broadly but industry experience is not a hard requirement.
• Proven track record of empowering teams, coaching for growth, and embedding operational‑excellence practices.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire ownership at all levels.
• Passion for Honeybee’s mission of expanding access to critical medications and improving patient outcomes.
• Nice to have: Deep understanding of Lean principles, process mapping, and data‑driven continuous improvement.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
