OVERVIEW:
The Pharmacy Operations Manager will support the Pharmacist-In-Charge in managing pharmacists, technicians, and other ancillary staff to optimize pharmacy workflow and meet pharmacy efficiency metrics. They will assist in evaluating pharmacy staff, setting work schedules, and executing disciplinary actions as needed. This role also involves supporting regulatory oversight and compliance within the pharmacy. It is a working supervisory position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Establish current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies, subject to approval by corporate management.
• Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization for major plans and procedures in line with established policies.
• Review pharmacy operating results, compare them to objectives, and ensure corrective actions are taken when necessary.
• Establish and maintain effective communication systems throughout the pharmacy.
• Assist pharmacy leads and supervisors with day-to-day operations and the implementation of new procedures.
• Collaborate with various departments involved in prescription workflow from entry to delivery.
• Lead and manage pharmacy staff, fostering a positive working environment and minimizing employee relations issues.
• Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate new associates, including providing performance improvement and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure all state and federal documentation requirements are met and maintained.
• Supervise operating procedures, protocols, and guidelines in the pharmacy.
• Ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services to all customers/residents.
• Control operating expenses by managing personnel, equipment, and supplies effectively.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each team member.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, SBOP, and DEA.
• Report any misconduct or unethical activities to the Compliance Officer.
• Participate in inspections and surveys conducted by authorized agencies.
• Engage in the Pharmacy's Performance Improvement Program as requested.
• Participate in pharmacy committees and in-service education programs.
• Adhere to the company's Drug-Free Workplace policy and undergo drug screening as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage pharmacy staff and ensure optimal performance and adherence to standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• The work environment is well-lit and well-ventilated with frequent interruptions and competing conversations.
• Exposure to potentially toxic substances (e.g., cleaning agents, medications) and communicable diseases may occur.
• Office environments may include minor exposure to cold or heat.
• Occasional after-hours work may be required.
• This is a drug-free workplace.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Requires long periods of standing, occasional sitting, and frequent bending, stretching, or reaching.
• Requires the manipulative functions associated with prescription preparation, such as opening medication bottles, handling vials, and pouring liquids.
• Frequent repetitive hand motions are required, especially at a computer terminal.
• Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal ranges.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to decipher a broad range of handwriting.
• Drug screening is required prior to employment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60.00 - $66.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
