Job Description

Job Summary: Backyard Products is seeking an experienced Photographer/Graphic Designer to join our in-house Brand Creative Team, based out of our Dallas, TX office. Our Brand Creative Team is thoughtful, collaborative, and works cross-functionally to execute creative work for our brands, which we sell through big box stores, eCommerce platforms, and our own DTC websites. We are looking for a talented professional with a strong background in commercial and product photography, particularly in a studio environment, and expertise in the Adobe Creative Suite. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in capturing high-quality, compelling images and video content that aligns with brand identity. In-studio photography experience is essential, and the ability to seamlessly transition between on-location and in-studio shoots is highly preferred. As a key member of our creative team, you will collaborate closely with marketing and creative departments to conceptualize and execute photo shoots, ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and align with the creative vision. The role will require participation in multiple shoots per year, including some travel for on-location work. This is a full-time, direct-hire opportunity offering competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, employee discounts, and professional development support. Key Responsibilities: Lead photo and video production, ensuring consistently high-quality results. Create detailed shot lists and organize equipment for both in-studio and on-location shoots. Direct talent, particularly young children (ages 18 months to 10 years), ensuring that they are comfortable, engaged, and following direction for optimal results. Collaborate with the team to style sets and wardrobes, ensuring that the overall look and feel align with the brand’s aesthetic and creative direction. This includes selecting and coordinating clothing, props, and set designs for each shoot. Assist with art direction and set preparation, including propping and location management. Provide post-production services, including color correction, image enhancement, retouching, and advanced Photoshop editing. Maintain a modern, clean aesthetic and ensure all imagery aligns with the company’s brand identity. Collaborate with the Marketing and Creative teams to ensure final artwork adheres to required specs for both digital and print production. Design and produce various marketing collateral, including website landing pages, digital ads, social media content, in-store POS, brochures, and catalogs. Conceptualize and execute innovative marketing campaigns, demonstrating design expertise and trend awareness. Minimum Experience and Education Requirements: At least 4 years of professional product photography and graphic design experience, with a focus on in-studio photography. A strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality work in both photography and design. (Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.) Proficiency with digital photography and videography equipment, along with advanced knowledge of editing software (Adobe Creative Suite). Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite and proficiency in FIGMA. Familiarity with AI tools in the design process is a plus. Strong eye for composition, lighting, detail, and styling. Preferred Experience: Experience with drone imagery. Experience with eCommerce or direct-to-consumer (DTC) websites is a major plus. Knowledge of website UI and experience with DTC web design. Agency experience is preferred. Familiarity with Asana for project management. Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field, or equivalent experience.
