Physical Therapist Assistant ‐ Outpatient ‐ (PTA)

The position is in Hampton, VA, an area rich in history and scenic beauty. Ensure candidates have not worked at any Sentara site for the past year. Hampton VA Medical Center is recognized for its excellence, including awards like the American Heart Association's Get With The Guidelines® ‐ Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus.Candidates must hold a VA or compact license. At least two years of experience in Outpatient Rehab Therapy is required. One year of travel experience is necessary. Candidates should have proficiency in observing patients, reporting status, and designing therapeutic exercise programs. Must have two years of experience at least one in outpatient. Experience with weights, strength building, endurance, coordination, and balance training is beneficial. Familiarity with administrative tasks related to patient care can be advantageous.Hampton, Virginia offers a variety of attractions including historic landmarks such as Fort Monroe and the serene Buckroe Beach and Park. The area is known for its engaging entertainment options, museums, parks, and coastal beauty. This position is a 13‐week engagement with shifts from Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, with no on‐call requirements. Parking is conveniently free, and scrubs are the dress code. The role involves observing and assisting patients through therapy sessions, designing exercises to aid recovery, and promoting overall health and well‐being.
