Physician Assistant for Bariatric and Weight Management

Job description

Dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) is part of the Bariatric team, responsible for the comprehensive evaluation and treatment of both pre-surgical and post-surgical patients, as well as non-surgical patients within our Bariatric program. This team member demonstrates a commitment to patient care, collaboration with our multidisciplinary team, and a proactive approach to health management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Evaluation and Treatment:

Conduct thorough evaluations and provide treatment plans for pre-surgical and post-surgical bariatric patients. Additionally, evaluate and treat non-surgical weight management patients.

• Patient Triage:

Assess and triage patient concerns to ensure timely and appropriate care.

• Care Coordination:

Collaborate with primary care physicians (PCPs) and other specialists to ensure integrated, comprehensive patient care, particularly in complex cases.

• Review of Diagnostic Results:

Review laboratory and diagnostic test results, offering management recommendations as needed to optimize patient outcomes.

• Patient Education Development:

Develop and distribute educational materials to patients, ensuring they are well-informed and prepared for their bariatric journey.

Qualifications:

• Must have NCCPA certification.
• Strong clinical skills with a focus on patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and technological tools in a clinical setting.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours call and occasional outreach activities.
