Position Summary
The Department of Internal Medicine, Max Rady College of Medicine, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, and Shared Health Manitoba invite applications for a position in the Section of Hepatology.
The successful candidate, based at the Health Sciences Center, will have an academic appointment within the Section of Hepatology with a start date of February 1, 2025, or negotiable based on the successful candidate’s availability. Rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience. Candidates will assist in the section and without any endoscopy time or gastroenterology commitments. Successful candidates will have a research interest in liver related epidemiology and can implement changes to the delivery of care model for patients suffering from advanced liver disease within the Province of Manitoba.
Candidates must demonstrate broad experience in clinical management of liver diseases (including pre and post-transplant), and must be eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. Certification in Hepatology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada is preferred and must have senior specialty qualifications with Internal Medicine and Hepatology in the country of current practice.
About the Section of Endocrinology
The Section of Hepatology is committed to excellence in patient care, ground-breaking research, and high-quality medical education. The 7 faculty members of the Section of Hepatology form a group of academic hepatologists in a busy and expanding liver disease program and report to the Head, Department of Internal Medicine and Provincial Specialty Lead, Shared Health. The Section has a strong commitment to the provision of clinical services and interests in furthering undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education in Hepatology. Â
