Currently, CTS is looking forPipe Welders in San Diego, CA. Job Description: • Weld carbon steel, stainless steel, and copper nickel pipe using SMAW and GTAW processes in 6G and 6GR positions. • Heat oxygen/propane heating torch. • Perform grinding and pick up work as needed. • Properly use fillet gauges, butt gauges, and six-inch scale. • Must have a thorough knowledge of various metals characteristics and qualities including the correct welding processes required and the effects of welding on the material. Job Requirements: • Minimum 5 years of naval or industrial pipe welding experience. • Successfully complete testing requirements. • Must have reliable transportation. • Familiar with OSHA regulations and be committed to safety. • Pass drug test and background check. • Comfortable with heights and in confined spaces. • Lift 50lbs without assistance. • Must understand the layout of the ship and compartment identification or be willing to learn. • Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
