Placement Student - Sales Applications Engineer

We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement Student - Sales Application Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Power Systems Business Segment in Peterborough. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential ! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Support the department on key tasks and projects working both independently and within teams.
• Support delivery of technical seminars in the factory and onsite.
• Working in a team environment and learning how to make decisions in a collaborative way.
• Provide technical support to Dealers & Distributors.
• Interacting with different functions and Cummins factories worldwide.
• Sourcing, interpreting, and developing technical data and work towards agreed deadlines.
• Will have to travel across UK ( 1x 2-3months) to make presentations at our clients and customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• We are looking for a wide range of students currently towards an Electrical/Mechanical/Automotive Engineering degree.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn new skills.
• Good Microsoft Office skills are required including Excel, CAD skills would also be beneficial although are not essential.
• Flexible and proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on responsibilities.
• Good presentation skills, familiar with PowerPoint, well spoken, familiar with technical documents.
