Qualifications PLANT ELECTRICIAN This recruitment is open until the position is filled. Pay Grade: 111 Hourly Salary Range: $30.144231 - $44.471154 The successful candidate’s placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role. The placement shall not exceed the midpoint of the salary range. Schedule: Monday – Friday, 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. May work weekend and stand-by Job Number:RC#902286 DESCRIPTION The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of complex technical and skilled electrical work in the planning, installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of equipment for electrical systems in water and wastewater facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Install, alter, maintain and repair electrical wiring systems, including 120/240-volt, 277/480- volt, and 4160-volt wye and delta. Perform a variety of other maintenance tasks on equipment including motors up to 1250 HP, coils, transformers, power panels and motor control centers and control equipment. • Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair various types of luminaries and lighting systems including UV disinfection systems. • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair Chlorine generation equipment. • Test, run and maintain plant generation equipment including the documentation for regulatory agency requirements. • Install, test and maintain various Uninterruptible Power Supply Systems (UPS). • Install and maintain water pumps and process control schemes at booster stations, well sites, lift stations and other remote sites. • Assist staff with trade-specific information regarding electrical systems during routine maintenance, new construction and upgrades. Establish operating criteria and standard operating procedures for successful operation of electrical systems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Work Experience: Requires two (2) years of experience as a skilled journeyman electrician, including experience with 4160-voltage applications. Electrical repair work with pumps, compressors, engines, and related equipment at a water or wastewater utility is preferred. Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant’s full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience. Education: Requires a high school diploma, GED or equivalency, supplemented by graduation/completion from/of an accredited electrical apprentice or trade school program or licensure/certification related to the electrical trade. The term “equivalent” means that directly related work experience exceeding the required work experience will substitute in equal time increments for college-level education, for example: one year of additional directly related work experience will substitute for one year of college education (30 credit hours). Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations: • Possession of a valid driver’s license. • Possession of or required to obtain within six (6) months of hire an Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Grade 1 Water Treatment Certification, an ADEQ Grade 1 Water Distribution Certification depending on assignment.
