Job Description
Job Title: Plastic Surgery Office Registered Nurse (RN)
Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our plastic surgery office team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing surgeries on the clinical side, as well as managing pre, post, and intra-operative care. Additionally, the nurse will be expected to perform cosmetic procedures including botox, filler injections, laser treatments, and microneedling. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
• Surgical Coordination:
• Coordinate surgeries in collaboration with the plastic surgeon and surgical team.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including obtaining medical histories, ensuring consent forms are completed, and providing pre-operative instructions.
• Pre-Operative Care:
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and screenings to ensure patients are medically fit for surgery.
• Educate patients about the surgical process, potential risks, and post-operative care instructions.
• Intra-Operative Circulating:
• Assist the surgical team during procedures by preparing the operating room, ensuring all necessary equipment is available, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with anesthesia administration as needed.
• Post-Operative Care:
• Provide post-operative care and monitoring to ensure patients recover safely and effectively.
• Manage pain and discomfort through appropriate medication administration and comfort measures.
• Monitor and assess patients for signs of complications or adverse reactions.
• Cosmetic Procedures:
• Perform cosmetic procedures including botox injections, filler injections, laser treatments, and microneedling.
• Assess patients' aesthetic concerns and develop personalized treatment plans to achieve desired outcomes.
• Educate patients on cosmetic procedures, including benefits, risks, and expected results.
• Documentation and Record Keeping:
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, including pre-operative assessments, surgical notes, and post-operative progress.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and patient confidentiality guidelines.
• Collaboration and Communication:
• Collaborate effectively with the plastic surgeon, surgical team, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Communicate with patients and their families to address concerns, provide updates, and answer questions throughout the surgical process.
Qualifications:
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in a surgical or aesthetic setting.
• Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) and/or aesthetic procedures is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in performing cosmetic procedures such as botox, filler injections, lasers, and microneedling.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and ensuring patient safety.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work flexible hours as needed.
Working Conditions:
• This position is full-time, Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm.
• Hours may vary based on surgery schedule.
• The job may require standing for extended periods, lifting and positioning patients, and exposure to surgical environments and aesthetic procedures.
• The nurse may need to work evenings to accommodate surgical schedules and patient appointments.
• The role involves close interaction with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals in a fast-paced clinical setting.
