Platform Engineer I

DescriptionPosition Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Platform Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers to support, maintain, and enhance our internal development platforms. This is an ideal opportunity for an intellectually curious individual with a strong foundational knowledge of software engineering and a desire to build expertise in cloud-native technologies, automation, and infrastructure.Summary of Essential Job Functions As a Platform Engineer, your responsibilities will include supporting containerized application deployments with Docker and Kubernetes and support of our internal platforms. You will contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, help build automation scripts, and monitor system performance. You will also assist with implementing Infrastructure as Code, maintaining monitoring and logging systems, and providing technical support for internal tools. Creating documentation and participating in team knowledge-sharing are also key aspects of this role.Position Requirements • Have a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience • Have 1-2 years of experience in a Software Development, DevOps or Platform Engineering role • Knowledge of Linux (RHEL) • Familiar with a programming or scripting language • Have a basic understanding of cloud computing • Able to utilize version control tools like Git along with a strong understanding of merging and branching code. • Possess critical thinking and problem-solving skills. • Must possess excellent listening and communication skills. • Excellent written and oral communication skillsPreferred • Familiarity with Kubernetes or OpenShift • Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform • An understanding of basic networking concepts • Experience with Agile methodologies.
