Job Description
Play Money is bringing a modern commerce experience to Angel investing. We start by helping everyday Angels build diversified startup portfolios without making investing a full-time job or rolling up with a truck full of money.
Eventually, we rewire the entire $25B early-stage funding marketing, doing for deal flow discovery & engagement what AngelList did for back office and transactions.
As Chief of Staff, you’ll be the execution partner riding alongside the CEO so she can deliver on market-facing KPIs for the business. We need your unique combination of community growth vibes, skills learned from running your social media or side projects, a geeky curiosity for automation, and plenty of test-and-learn hustle.
What you’ll be helping us do
- Grow investors on the platform | Experiment with social media strategies (including video) to drive new signups.
- Increase Weekly Average Users | Help design and then own execution on experiments that bring users back in each week to review deal flow. Email, text, office hours, weekly social media campaigns. Nothing is off-limits.Â
- Become a top 3 co-investor for emerging fund managers | We need a CRM and a comms cadence to keep us top-of-mind with the most inspiring fund managers and angel groups.
- Achieve a 9+ NPS score with founders | This is where our founder DNA needs to shine. We can set the bar on making founders feel informed, in control, unbothered, and loved. Process automation and clear communication will go a long way toward having founders refer their friends to Play Money.
- Become the thought experts on the next generation of Angel | From orchestrating a spring podcast tour to researching our most important media influencers to collecting feedback on our content, you can help shape our POV in the market.Â
- Compile reporting for our monthly investor updates | This isn’t that hard, but metrics in action should excite you.
What you bring to the role
- Resonance with our brand | Be fired up about our mission and startups and see yourself (and maybe your mom) in our brand.Â
- Next-level GSD abilities | You are comfortable toggling between strategic and tactical. You are hands-on and scrappy because you’ve worked at early-stage startups or on your side projects and know how to get “stuff” done.Â
- Test-and-learn DNA | You geek out about optimization and experimentation. You love a good A/B test in the morning.
- Social media fluency | Turn our GenX smart-girl ZFG content into modern social media 🔥. Know how to build an audience and, more importantly, spot who to follow to develop our social media ambassador base. Bonus points for wrapping it in some tools to automate it all.Â
- Indispensable fearlessness | Ability to figure things out and get things done without being hung up on being too perfect or too precious…except when it comes to proofreading emails.
- Closet geek tendencies | Be super curious and experimental about using AI and automation for anything front end on our business.Â

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 per year + equity
Actual compensation will depend upon the candidate's skills and experience.
