Job Description

Steves & Sons, a door manufacturing company since 1866, is seeking a Machine Operator with PLC experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Duties β€’ Set up machine to start a production cycle β€’ Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed) β€’ Feed material or parts to semi-automated machines β€’ Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools β€’ Test operation of machines periodically β€’ Read designated reports to determine production requirements β€’ Obtain correct material β€’ Use gauges and tape measures to confirm quality in cuts β€’ Remedy issues that might occur during the shift β€’ Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws β€’ Keep records of approved and effective units or final products β€’ Maintain activity logs β€’ Comply with company policies and procedures and assist in keeping a safe working environment β€’ Assist in maintaining a clean and organized facility β€’ Any other tasks or projects that may be assigned by Supervisor or Manager Working Conditions β€’ Work week is Monday – Friday 6:00am until end of production β€’ Occasional Saturdays are required β€’ High degree of attention required to prevent injury β€’ Ability to squat, sit, stand, walk, reach daily and as needed to perform all job functions β€’ Fast-paced environment β€’ Minimum 2 years full time experience as a machine operator (PLC or CNC) β€’ Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer, etc) β€’ Understanding of production procedures and processes β€’ Ability to achieve and maintain knowledge of inventory product β€’ Ability to achieve knowledge of analyzing production schedules β€’ Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure and gauges β€’ Analytical skills β€’ Attention to detail β€’ Ability to work overtime including weekends β€’ Willingness to adhere to health and safety regulations β€’ Teamwork and communication skills β€’ Physical stamina and strength β€’ High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus β€’ Good attendance record and work ethic β€’ Ability to lift 50 pounds Located on the Southside of San Antonio. No High School diploma or GED required Manufacturing experience required Hours: 5:00am - 1:30pm or end of production Monday – Friday, Shift 1: Day Shift Saturday Overtime may be required and will be assigned according to production needs Job Type: Full-time We’re looking for individuals with a great attitude who can start immediately.
