Job Summary Plumber,Plant Facilities Department, Shift 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm, Baptist Medical Center South. The Facilitites Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems throughout the hospital to ensure a safe and functional environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Duties include troubleshooting water, drainage, and medical gas systems; performing preventative maintenance; and responding promptly to urgent plumbing needs to support uninterrupted hospital operations. Plumber,you will be responsible for: • Plumbers will understand plumbing principles, pipe layout, blueprints, drain & vent systems, valve application, water supply, material types and usage's. • Uses blueprints and plumbing principles of drainage and vent systems to locate and clear stoppages with sever machines. • Installs valves and piping materials properly suited for type of system being repaired or installed. • Repairs all types of plumbing fixtures, faucets and flush valves. • Takes apart equipment, determine the problem or faulty part and reassemble the equipment to a working order. This position may be called upon to perform other duties and responsibilities outside the normal job classification yet still within the department. Also includes weekend scheduling, on-call rotation, alternate shift assignments or overtime as required.
