Overview The MD Plumbing & Sewer plumbing assistant's job is to support licensed plumbers with installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in a hands-on environment and are eager to contribute their skills in plumbing, sewer and maintenance. This role involves carrying tools, preparing work areas, and assisting with tasks like pipe cutting, threading, and fixture installation under supervision. Key responsibilities include following safety protocols, maintaining a clean workspace, and learning advanced plumbing skills. Key responsibilities: Assist in installation and maintenance:Help install, maintain, and repair water distribution and waste disposal systems, pipes, and fixtures like sinks, toilets, and water heaters. Site preparation/clean-up:Prepare and close job sites by clearing areas, and gathering and organizing all necessary tools and materials. Basic plumbing tasks:Assist with tasks such as cutting, threading, and bending pipe to fit specifications. You may also assist with tasks like leak detection and repair. Safety and compliance: Follow all safety procedures and ensure that work complies with local and national regulations and building codes. Tool and equipment maintenance:Help keep all tools and equipment in good working order and properly stored. Customer interaction:Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with customers.
