JOB The City of Chandler Police Department, Media Relations Unit, is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as Police Digital Content Creator. This is a full-time, exempt position with full benefits. The organization is divided into three main divisions, one bureau, and many sections/units. The Patrol Operations Division consisting of three precincts, 1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler, 2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and 3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Division, Operational Support Division, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment; and is competently able to do the following when assigned to the Chandler Police Department: Must be able to create engaging social media content to include photos, videos and graphics, andTell compelling stories through visual mediums. Must be able to operate mirrorless camera systems, stabilizers, lighting kits and other production equipment. Simplifies complex law enforcement concepts into easily digestible content for the community.Collaborates to manage social media channels.Creates reports of social media analytics and other statistics.Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Attends department events to capture digital media posts on the department’s social media platforms.Assists in managing the department’s digital content calendar and contribute to overall content strategy.Produces visual content for internal and external distribution.Participates in a broad range of event production, staging and technical support services.Ability to work nights and weekends on occasion.Ensures visual content aligns with department brand, tone and messaging goals.Maintain and organize digital asset libraries.Collaborates with police and city leadership to plan and execute projects.Presents a positive public image and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees, elected officials and the public.To view the complete job description, please click here.Minimum qualificationsMust possess a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Mass Communications, Digital Media or a related field; and Must possess at least 3-years of experience in marketing or communications with an emphasis on social media; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.Must possess or obtain a valid Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record.SupervisionWork is performed under the supervision of a Media Manager and Public Information Officers. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 6 months should another position become available.
