Our team is comprised of PhD scientists, separation experts, and biopharma industry veterans, all passionate about enabling safer, cleaner life science products.

TeraPore is seeking a self-motivated Polymer Technician to design and develop new materials for isoporous membranes which will be applied to nanoparticle exclusion processes. The role of the position includes thin film coating of organic compounds, chemical analysis, and the evaluation of structural stability of prototype products. This position is a full-time on-site position based in our South San Francisco facility.

Responsibilities:

• Coating of organic materials on various substrates such as glasses, polymeric films, and silicon wafers
• Optimization of coating conditions
• Characterization of small molecules, polymers, and prepared thin films
• Management of testing tools, equipment, glassware, and supplies
• Procurement of materials including chemicals, films, and consumables for coating equipment
• Writing SOPs and progress reports

Requirements:

• Experience with analytical tools including FTIR, NMR, UV-Visible spectroscopy, and GPC
• Experience with synthetic chemistry/wet chemistry
• Must be able to read, understand, and follow all company work instructions, production standards, safety procedures, quality procedures, production procedures, and Standard Operating Protocols
• Must maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Must be able to work in an interdisciplinary and dynamic small-team environment

Nice to Have:

• Experience in casting, coating, or painting of organic compounds on various substrates
• Experience in slot die coating, bar coating, roll-to-roll coating
• Experience in the analysis of thin films with tools including ellipsometry, optical profiler, or AFM
• Experience or knowledge in radical polymerization and ionic polymerization

Salary Range:

• $60,000-$70,000
