Porter/Janitor

The Oak Hill Condominium Association is seeking to fill a vacancy for a full time porter/janitor. PLEASE NOTE: This position does require the successful candidate to work every fourth weekend (Saturday and Sunday). You will be paid at the over-time rate for the additional hours worked. Public transportation to and from Oak Hill is limited. Please check that a bus service is available in your area to and from the property before applying for the position. MISSION: To maintain the cleanliness of the interior common areas of the buildings and to maintain the cleanliness of the exterior perimeter of the buildings. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Remove trash daily from trash chutes and place in large trash bags for disposal by trash hauler. 2. Provides daily cleaning of lobby entrance by dusting furniture, cleaning of glass doors, vacuums carpeting, cleans brass (where applicable), sweeps entrance area outside, removes any trash and straightens up mail room. 3. Provides daily cleaning of all trash rooms by properly removing any debris left on floors, mop trash room floors, wipes down walls and chute opening. 4. Provides daily cleaning of laundry rooms by mopping floors, removing trash and wiping down all machines (inside and out). Also cleans behind all machines on a weekly basis or as needed. 5. Provides daily cleaning of hallways by vacuuming the carpets, dusting all fixtures and baseboards. Wipes down walls and doors as needed. Spot cleans carpeting when necessary. 6. Maintain cleanliness of mechanical rooms and janitor closets. 7. Provides weekly cleaning of stairwells by damp mopping the floors. Sweeping of the fire towers is done on a daily basis or as needed. 8. Provides weekly cleaning of the marble floors in the lobby by buffing them. 9. Maintains appearance of the large lobby glass windows inside and out as needed. 10. Delivers notices to residents in building as requested by Community Association Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. 11. Pads elevators and lays down panel sheeting on carpeting according to schedule for move-ins or outs and for large deliveries. 12. Performs any other duty or special projects as assigned by Community Association Manager or Maintenance Supervisor. 13. Assists with snow removal.
