This role is critical in engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) faculty and staff, current and prospective students, alumni, donors, and community partners. Key Responsibilities: • Manages marketing and communication strategies to enhance PVCC’s visibility and reputation with consistent branding, community advertising, college events, direct marketing, and web content management. • Develops, recommends, administers, and assesses local marketing and communication plans in support of district and college-wide enrollment and retention strategies • Contributes to the strategic direction and vision of the college, communicating the student voice, addressing community needs. • Upholds the organization’s mission and values; in concert with district marketing, achieves measurable outcomes in media generation, lead generation, and brand management with allocated resources. • Ensures brand management and compliance with regulations and policies within the guidelines of MCCCD’s marketing and communication brand standards. • Maintains a collaborative, high-functioning, outcomes-driven, college marketing and communications team • Assists with creating promotional plans and materials for the college’s instructional and support programs • Plans and allocates the marketing and communications’ operating budget with the goal ofoptimizing investments/services. Essential Functions 25% Manages the college’s Marketing Department to execute the college’s strategic directions in regard to marketing the college and its programs. Supervises staff employee(s) and provides strategic guidance for the team to plan and implement social media, graphic design, public relations, and other promotional activities for the college and its programs. Manages the college’s marketing budget. Is an active member of the college’s Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) committee. 25% Assists faculty in planning and implementing promotion for instructional programs. Directs the Marketing Department to develop promotional materials for instructional programs, including brochures, flyers, posters, banner, digital marketing campaigns, and other promotional activities. 25% Manages and administers college-level promotional strategies, including advertising, public relations, special events and social media. Works closely with the college’s Outreach and Recruitment Department to develop the college’s marketing plan and ensures the plan is consistent with the college’s strategic plan and SEM plan. Also works closely with Information Technology to implement communication on the college’s web site. 15% Manages the public relations function for the college by sending out press releases to media contacts. Maintains good relationships with the local media. Works with the college’s instructional and support areas to create positive news that may be highlighted in both internal and external media. 10% Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in public relations, marketing, journalism or related field and five years of professional experience in planning, developing and implementing marketing, advertising, and public relations programs for an assigned functional area, which includes two years of supervisory experience. OR An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered. Desired Qualifications 1. Master’s degree or higher in Marketing, Journalism, Multi-Media/Graphic Design, or related field. 2. Five (5) years of experience marketing college or university programs and academic disciplines. 3. Five (5) years of experience managing or executing advertising campaigns including media planning across all media (print, broadcast, digital). 4. Five (5) years of experience managing public relations and/or marketing communication with external audiences. 5. Five (5) years of experience leading a marketing department or organization with supervision of at least two employees. 6. Five (5) years of experience planning and implementing/applying marketing research to campaigns.
