Job Description

As aPre-certification & Call Center Representative-supportingDermatology & Aesthetics in Bucktown- you are a well-rounded customer service professional with extensive admin office. You will be the main point of contact for insurance companies and staff to go to for all pre-certification and prior authorization needs. You will also work as a full functioning Call Center Representative. You are able to perform all aspects of a call center: manage a high volume of incoming calls in a small, centralized call center; obtain information from the clinical team and patients to complete insurance prior authorizations, as required by payors, prior to patient being seen; schedule patient appointments, complete on-demand eligibility checking; verify appointment information; register and create record for new patients; assist patients in completion of necessary forms and consents; obtain and verify current insurance information or other financial information, as necessary; update patient demographic data in practice management system; schedule and re-schedule return appointments according to scheduling guidelines; adhere to patient confidentiality and records release policies. Preferred: at least two years of experience in a medical office or other healthcarecall center settingand extensive customer service experience.Familiarity with insurance plans and the prior authorization process. You are a detailed-oriented, proactive, initiative-taking individual with a passion for healthcare. You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; working knowledge of computer applications: word processing, medical office management and spreadsheet; ability to accurately record and transmit detailed information.
