Precision Machinist

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Precision Machinist to set up and operate various machine shop equipment. In this role, you will produce complex tools, fixtures, and diversified products while adhering to safety and efficiency standards. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement through proactive troubleshooting, documentation review, and meticulous component inspection.Responsibilities • Set up and operate manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders to fabricate precision components. • Interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and tooling sheets to ensure accurate machining. • Conduct thorough inspections using precision measuring equipment to verify conformance to specifications. • Troubleshoot machining issues, implement process improvements, and optimize equipment performance. • Adhere to all safety, quality, and housekeeping standards to maintain a compliant and efficient work environment. • Actively participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.QualificationsRequired Skills • 5+ years of experience in setting up and operating precision machine shop equipment. • High School diploma or GED equivalent; Vocational/Technical school preferred. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T. • Strong math skills and the ability to interpret graphs and data for problem-solving. • U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred Skills • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts and employee training practices. • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
