To prepare and operate multi-unit web-fed rotary press to print newspapers according to specifications. To maintain press and keep in good working order
Tasks Performed:
· Rolls paper onto spool; locks printing plates on printing cylinder threading loose end of paper supply roll through and around rollers to cutter and folder
· Removes wrapper from paper
· Inspects roll for damage
· Prepares edge of roll for inserting into machinery, adjusting compensators to guide paper over rollers and cylinders
· Adjusts feed controls to rotate cylinder into position
· Places roll in chucking (home) position
· Climbs ladders and catwalks to observe operations
· Assembles plates
· Operates pasting device to splice end of newspaper roll to depleted roll
· Inspects printed sheets visually after registration or position printing and readjusts guides and controls to rectify spacing errors, irregular ink distribution, and faulty cuts or folds
· Unjams machines
· Performs light maintenance on machines
· Cleans, inspects and lubricates moving parts of press
· Replaces cutting blades, worn or damaged ink rolls, and fills ink wells
· Moves ink buckets to and from the presses
· May supervise and instruct apprentices

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.
The salary range for this position is:
42,300.00 - 63,500.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
